A couple of crew members, Mark and Cliff, who used to work on the boat 'Sea Quest', have bought there own boat, the 'Day Tripper', so we went out with them for a day. It is a little different type of trip that that of 'Sea Quest'. It is a little more laid back and relaxed. We went out to a location on the Great Barrier Reef called Upolo Cay. It is a small sandy cay surrounded by beautiful coral. We snorkelled from the boat to the cay. We were so busy snorkelling that we did not go up onto the cay, but there is plenty of time for those who want to go up on the sandy cay and relax under the sun. We saw a wide variety of fish and coral. We saw a couple of turtles, a shark, sting ray, etc. We also saw a beautiful, big red fan coral. If you want a very nice relaxing day on the reef, we recommend going out on the 'Day Tripper'.
